Forrest Griffin Might Retire after Ortiz Fight

Amidst all the chopping and changing of the fight cards in the UFC pay per view events in recent times, one match has remained constant among all and that is the Trilogy between Forrest Griffin and Tito Ortiz, set for UFC 148. Although the match is a one-off and will be of no relevance to the title picture in the UFC Light Heavyweight division, these two fighters have remained fan favorites since they made their respective debuts and now that the time has come for Tito Ortiz to step into the ring for one final time, Griffin sat down in an interview, spilling his heart out about the history of the fight.

Speaking to UFC.com, Griffin stated that they are tied at one apiece and the two fights that they have had against each other have entered UFC folklore, being among the greatest of matches in the history of the company.  He added that there are bound to be things that will be extremely tough to handle and deal with and with the wrestling background of Ortiz, Forrest Griffin admitted that he has the edge in the fight.

In spite of his age, Griffin went on to add, Ortiz still has a good amount of fire power left in him, with a good right hand and the trade mark shovel hook as well as the knee, but he also mentioned that if he was stopped from coming forward, he can be beaten. So much respect Griffin has for Ortiz that he went on to claim that if he lost the fight to Ortiz, he would call time on his career as well, along with Ortiz.

It is also possible that Forrest Griffin might retire even if he wins and the UFC stand to lose two of their biggest superstars that have made the company a household name.
