Jose Aldo to take on Frankie Edgar

The open secret has now become official. The whole UFC industry knew that it was going to be Jose Aldo vs. Frankie Edgar at UFC 156 on 2^nd February and that has been officially announced. They will take on each other at Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas. It has also been told that the tickets of that event will be sold from next week onwards.

This is going to be the main attraction of UFC 156 as the featherweight champion takes on Edgar. The fight was scheduled earlier at UFC 153 but it didn’t take place as Aldo injured his leg badly in an accident. Jose Aldo has been going through an impeccable form as he is unbeaten in his last 14 matches. He literally manhandled Chad Mendes at UFC 142 which was eventually his last fight.

On the other hand, Edgar will be debuting in the 145 pound category. He is also in a good shape and has stepped consecutively into the ring for as many as six championship fights. Although most of them were rematches, but it still he cannot be underestimated.

UFC President Dana White is excited about this fight. He thinks that it will be a power-packed entertainment for the fans. When asked he said that this Jose Aldo vs. Frankie Edgar fight would going to be one of the most awaited and anticipated fights ever and the fans would really love it. He also said that UFC has been consistently producing some of its unsurpassed fights in the night of Super Bowl and this year is no exception.

Mr. White is true, indeed! Besides this high voltage fight, you’ve also got the bout between Alistair Overgreem and ‘Bigfoot’ Silva, Jon Fitch and Damien Maia etc. So hopefully again, this year’s Super Bowl event will be another grand success.
